Hanaa is an award-winning writer and director who has over a decade of experience in film and media production. Hanaa wrote her first story at the age of eight. She has graduated to different forms, telling stories in 3D animation and photography and film. She holds a Masters of Arts in Film and Media Production, along with a certificate in filmmaking from the Academy of Cinema Arts and Technology under the tutelage of the lauded Egyptian writer and director Ra’afat Almihi. Hanaa is also a cinematographer and worked with 35mm, 16mm, and Digital Red Cameras.
Growing up with a Moroccan mother and a Saudi father taught Hanaa to draw on her culturally diverse background. Living and studying in different countries has given Hanaa a unique perspective and worldview, which she has dutifully translated to the screen. Hanaa published her first book of poetry, “Bleep—The Vigilance Near Death Experience” in 2009. She also contributes regularly to her own blog online.
